Types of Business


Private:
The private sector is usually composed of organizations that are privately owned and not part of the government. These usually includes corporations (both profit and non-profit), partnerships, and charities.


ASDA

Aims & Objectives:

ASDA group PLC aims is to provide goods and services that are cheap and affordable to the public. Reducing packaging is one of ASDA's key objectives and they are considering every option to achieve this goal.

It intends to increase the amount of fresh products sold loose from boxes and reduce its range of own label pre-packed products sold in its stores across the country is key objective.

To offer quality products at low price is another aim of ASDA. In order to cover this aim they buy products from highly competitive supplier.



Public
The public sector is usually composed of organizations that are owned and operated by the government.

 

Leicester City council


Aims & Objectives:
The aim is to offer Adults with Learning Disabilities appropriate support to explore and access a variety of meaningful work opportunities within the City of Leicester.
Objective is to work in a Person Centred Approach to establish what type of work the individual has an interest in, taking into consideration experience, knowledge, strengths and needs etc.­­­­­ To support individuals in a variety of ways to maximise they’re potential.

Another aim is to provide Learning Disability Service is committed to helping and supporting people with learning disabilities living in the City of Leicester. The objective of this service is to: Gather information about what support people needs, from their assessment and their Person Centred Plan and delivering services to meet these needs. Provide support to take part in different activities in the community.

The aim of Leicester city council is to shape Britain’s sustainable city. The financial strategy helps deliver that aim, making the best possible use of limited resources. The Council believes that the aim is best achieved in co-operation with local partners and will seek to work collaboratively both on service and financial planning, and on joint commissioning of services.



Non-Profitable

Shelter


Aims:
Help and advice
Their aim is to provide free, independent advice and information on housing to help people understand their rights and options.

Provide houses
One of main aim of shelter is to provide housing facilities to people who can’t afford to live or who are homeless.

Raise investment
The other aim is to raise investment in order to built new houses and cover other expenses to provide better services.

Objectives:
Supply of advice services
They need to open more branches to provide help and advice to different people. They can provide advices on different topics like Homelessness Paying for a home Repairs and bad conditions etc.

Supply of House
They need to build more houses in different areas to provide more people house facilities in order to help homelessness.   

Donation
They can collect huge amounts of investment by collecting donation from government and other organisations. They can also collect donation from general public and from schools as well in order to raise their investment.







Comparison of Aims and Objectives of private, public and Non-profitable organisations:


In private sector the main aim of the ASDA is create an image of providing low prices goods to increase their customers, sales, and in order to gain high profit. They have a new idea to provide fresh product rather than pre-packed to increase product freshness. Their purpose is to increase profit and attract new customers. They buy products from highly competitive supplier to reach their aims. But comparing to Leicester city council and Shelter, these organisation have totally different aims.  Their aim is to provide cheap goods & service or free service to people rather than doing something for sake of profit.


 In the public sector Leicester city council’s aim is not to increase their customer and profit. Their main aim is to improve the overall standard of their city and help and advice to the people of their city. They raise finance from government and other sources to deliver these aims. Comparing to the Shelter and ASDA their aims and objective are different. ASDA is providing goods and service for sake of high profit. Other hand Shelter is providing service to certain people who are homelessness. They are reaching their aims through collecting donation rather taking funds only from government.



In the non profitable sector the shelter’s aim is to provide affordable housing facilities and free advice to homelessness people in UK. To deliver their aims they collect donation from government, other organisations and general public. Their purpose or aim is not to collect revenue or earn profits. They just want to help the poor people. But comparing to ASDA and Leicester city council they have different aims and objective. ASDA’s aims are to increase their customers and profit and Leicester city council has the aim to increase the standard of its city. Shelter’s aim is restricted to effective people like to homelessness people but Leicester city council provides its service to everyone in its city.
